Google Earth Engine Training of Compass Program
Nowadays technically skilled human resources is crucial to forest management, restoration, and close monitoring of the forest in Bangladesh. Considering it, Compass Program has completed eight weeks of online training on Google Earth Engine for the early career professionals and students jointly with the Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline, Khulna University (FWT-KU), and FWT Alumni Association. Mr. Md. Amir Hosain Chowdhury, Chief Conservator of Forests, Bangladesh Forest Department as the chief guest in the closing ceremony on July 19, 2021, remarked that the training has improved efficiency and skills to equip the trainees for national forest inventory, forest monitoring, and up-to-date forest management. A total of 40 participants were present in the event including faculty members of three universities, government officials, 31 trainees and others.
